Originating from Brooklyn, Matt C. White is one of the artists we admire here at Rock Era, as I believe he possesses a unique ability to create a remarkable and cohesive twist in music. His latest release, “The Way Down,” invites us to explore further below.

As I previously mentioned regarding the twist, I truly appreciated how “The Way Down” began. Picture it as the intro to an instrumental rock piece that transports you to an entirely different realm. His authentic vocals, combined with their emotional resonance, are truly remarkable, showcasing his unique singing style. I was captivated by how the track transitions seamlessly within just four minutes; each shift is intentional and executed flawlessly. The atmosphere and effects evoke a sense of nostalgia, adding genuine charm to the overall composition of the song.

White elaborates,“I wanted it to feel the writer is bound for the bottom but somehow that last little bit of fall is the trippiest and brightest. Almost like there’s a fear of the tumultuous fall ending but you want to ride it out because it’s prettiest near the bottom”

Matt C. White showcases his love for musical experimentation in his first single, The Way Down, from the upcoming album ‘A Cosmic Year’. This track features a laid-back groove with vintage fuzz, diverging from his typical hard-driving southern rock style. Despite incorporating elements from the entire record, White’s careful production ensures a cohesive listening experience. If you’re craving for a new rock sound, then I highly recommend this one. Cheers!
