Brandenburg’s HKSPK are dropping “Torture” on January 23rd, a raw Black/Death single built around two voices reacting to the same moment: one calmly observes a locust, the other loses control and interprets it as a deadly threat. It’s about how fear distorts reality. The young German trio released their debut album Holy Scum in 2024, followed by the EP The Human Butcher in June 2025, which earned 12 points in LEGACY Magazine #158. They’ve been getting attention from over 16 countries and have already played Schaf City Open Air and MUR Open Air, with festival slots booked for 2026.

This one is not for the faint of heart. Under two minutes, but it lingers. The track starts with a melodic Black Metal edge before shifting into fast, sharp riffing and high-pitched screams. The vocals move from cold narration to frantic shrieks, mirroring the dialogue. The riffs are jagged, the rhythm grimy. Arne’s drumming pounds relentlessly, tightening everything into a suffocating wall. It recalls early Marduk, 1349, Dark Funeral. Black metal atmosphere over death metal weight.

HKSPK deliver no gimmicks, just raw underground power. “Torture” is a furious statement from a band stepping beyond their local scene. If Holy Scum and The Human Butcher proved they don’t need gloss, this track confirms they’re refining that intensity into something that demands attention.
