Unbeheld is a death metal band founded in 2014 and based in Vancouver, Canada. They have released their debut self-titled release same here, and this year; their second release Dust which has been released on Friday, July 21, 2017.

It’s very clear that Unbeheld is strictly influenced by the old-school of extreme metal. Simply, imagine you’re listening to a mega-fusion of Decapitated, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Gojira and Gorguts! Yes, when they stated all these bands as influences they were totally right. When I got to listen to their release, I double checked their founding date because I thought they were established in the late 80’s or early 90’s max.

Dust includes 7 tracks which hardly could find a weak point through. I am not a big fan of death metal nowadays, and cannot stand listening to a 7 or 9 tracks of it, You know ‘life became much faster!’ is really cool that their longest 6 minutes only, and even you cannot feel it’s so harsh, as the riffs go perfectly with the song’s direction.

Death metal is known by its harsh and brutal vocals, but it’s very smart from Kyle Hamagishi (Vocals, Guitar and Lyrics) to project his singing style with the riffs and the music and doesn’t make it as complicated to the ears for hard music analysis. In addition, I must say that the solos in this album are really cool but I am expecting more solos in their next releases.

Now, I understand why Metal Injection compared the band to Gojira and Decapitated. If you’re a death metal fan and missed listening to Unbeheld’s Dust, I highly recommend it for you.
