London based alt rock band The Fades releases a very interesting song with a unique perspective…the song is titled “Looking for Keanu”…did you guess something? Well, yes, there aren’t many Keanus out there…
The Fades‘ lead singer Dave heard a rumor that Keanu Reeves was filming near the studio where The Fades rehearsed at…so he started daydreaming…what if he bumped into Keanu Reeves and somehow came to become friends…a very unique premise indeed.
Looking for Keanu is a 90’s inspired slice of slacker indie rock that features The Fades at their most reflective and self-effacing.
…speaking of which, let’s get to know the brilliant minds behind The Fades excellent music…
- Dave Lightfoot on guitar and vocals
- James Lightfoot on bass
- Jonathan “Jonny” Barnard on guitar
- Alastair “Flash” Thorpe on drums
“Looking for Keanu” is so 90s…in fact it’s so 90s that I can imagine it in a movie that ends by the people looking for Keanu actually finding him…and then the credits roll, leaving space for an open ending…and the rest of the story continues on within the minds of the audiences.
The chorus really is one shining moment…huge sounding, big, anthemic, catchy and just powerful.
The music is great, nostalgic with a modern twist, a guitar solo intertwined with the chorus’ vocal melody…it’s complicated, yet easy on the ears and hearts…The Fades really have their own style and voice, very relatable and super cool.
If you’ve even been in contact with alt rock or 90s rock, you’re gonna be hooked on “Looking for Keanu”…so make sure not to miss this one, it’s a must-listen experience.
Wishing all the best to The Fades…and hope they actually find Keanu!
Cheers!
