My mind has always been puzzled by the fact that one can spend time with a person and then, once they go home, there’s a whole new life you don’t know about. We all share an aspect or more of each other’s lives, but not all of them. Even if a person chooses to share with you what they have missed, it is not like you have been there. It’s nice to know that there’s someone out there wondering about a similar thing! In his single “People in Their Houses,” which will be released on January 27th, Greg Bounce agrees with my thoughts on how each house is a world unto itself, with only its residents knowing what goes on inside.
While fighting the pandemic and the virus’s evolution, our way of life has changed dramatically over the previous few years. Life slowed down for a while, especially in the beginning, and everyone stayed at home, sharing joys and sorrows, weddings and funerals, career ups and downs, and renewing family bonds. That’s what Greg Bounce is showing us: life inside the homes of folks we cross on the road, neighbors only a few metres away. Greg’s vocals are peaceful and gently telling us the story about people in their houses, combined with a soothing intro that features the sound of a gentle sigh, electronica vibes and indie pop melodies consists of slow tempo drumbeats, amazing guitar runs, and scintillating keys, the instrumentation has been well crafted around his heartfelt voice and the lyrics reveling other worlds.
