SOLINGEN, GERMANY — Next Generation Voodoo (NGV), the world’s first and only Alternative Voodoo Rock band, have released their latest single, “Runaway Lane,” out now in March 2026. The track marks another bold step forward for the Solingen-based quartet, whose sound refuses to bow to convention and whose lyrics cut straight to the marrow of everyday human experience.
“Runaway Lane” arrives as the latest chapter in a story that began when four musicians from radically different worlds found a shared language in sound. Guitarist Marc Ernsting (Industrial/Dark Gothic), drummer Frank Fittgen (Psychobilly/Metal), bassist “Blift” Eicken (70s Rock), and vocalist Jens Heiber (New Wave) fused their backgrounds into something entirely new — a genre they call Alternative Voodoo Rock. No two influences cancel each other out here; instead they collide and ignite.

Three of the band’s members — Ernsting, Eicken, and Heiber — share roots going back to the original Generation Voodoo formation (2011–2019). When Frank Fittgen joined on drums in 2020, the lineup was complete and the band was reborn as Next Generation Voodoo. In 2022 they self-produced and self-distributed their debut album No Credits Left on CD, following it with the digital single “Nowhereland” (late 2023) and the widely praised “Home” (January 2025) before arriving at “Runaway Lane” — their most ambitious release to date.
True to the band’s identity, “Runaway Lane” keeps a deliberate distance from the mainstream. NGV’s music has always explored the everyday madness and the questions life never stops asking, and this new single is no exception — propulsive, atmospheric, and emotionally charged, with that unmistakable NGV fingerprint woven through every bar. Recording, mixing, and mastering were handled in-house by vocalist Jens Heiber, preserving the band’s fiercely independent spirit from writing to final output.
Next Generation Voodoo are taking their Alternative Voodoo Rock to stages across the region in 2026, with several club shows already confirmed. A highlight of the live calendar will be their appearance at Haan Open Air 2026, where the band will bring their visceral, multi-genre-spanning live set to a wider festival audience for the first time this cycle.
